Dr. Coo was great. Did a thorough exam on my dog. Fully explained surgery and did not advocate for surgery at this time.

Amazing office, everyone is so nice and makes you feel so comfortable. My 1st appointment was an emergency appointment with my golden retriever and the care she received was outstanding. Dr. Gaarder was kind, calm, so gentle with my 11. 5 year old golden retriever and provided some much information and hope to me. Can’t say enough wonderful things about this practice.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars to Dr. James Gaarder and the wonderful team at Veterinary Eye Specialists in Thornwood (Westchester), NY. I brought my dog River all the way from Astoria for his cornea edema, and Dr. Gaarder went above and beyond the call of duty. He and the team took the time to ensure I fully understood River’s diagnosis and treatment plan, making me feel confident about River’s future. Even with his diminished eyesight, I now truly believe River will continue to enjoy life. I am extremely thankful for their compassion, professionalism, and expertise!

Excellent doctors and staff. They stayed late to perform emergency surgery to save my dog’s eye after she had a corona ulcer. They were responsive to our emails over the weekend, and were able to squeeze us in, in between patients, for a follow up. Very thorough and explained everything to us - the surgery, the medication, the healing time, etc. The doctors are amazing, but the staff is also kind, understanding, helpful and supportive.

My dog and I absolutely love Dr. Cho and her staff! They are so kind and patient which puts my untrusting rescue at ease. VES has been amazing getting us thru the situation we're facing with our pup. ❤
