So, I’m rarely someone who leaves negative reviews and usually take my time to write good ones but this one deserves my honest opinion after how I was treated by Bridget.
Firstly, I showed up at 7:30am as told and with my two kittens in the same carrier (this was allowed as stated, but had to be in separate carries for pick up. Understood.) And on my drive there one of the boys had an accident if not two, which hello…they’re in a car and it’s new and scary. I’d also like to mention I wasn’t greeted either. I digress, well I fill my paperwork out and bring it to her and she opens the door and forcefully shoves the kennel towards me… loudly states “this is covered in shit and piss”. Which hey earth to you if you gave me the time of day to even speak to you I would have said, “hey I’m sorry they had an accident on the way here”… Anyway, I attempt to apologize and tell her I’m sorry I don’t know why that would have happened as I followed your instructions to not let them eat after midnight and only water if they want it. She clearly didn’t care and said pick up is at 2 and shut the door… cool, cool, cool. All of this is just so professional.
Fast forward to pick up, I get out I’m grabbing the kennels and placing the pads down for them and as I’m walking over I’m being yelled at, PICK UP WAS AT 2, YOURE LATE AND I NEED TO GO! HURRY UP, HURRY, HURRY. So, this obviously has me thrilled to pick up my kittens and interact with this wildebeest of a woman. To be fair, I was late and it’s my own fault as I got the times mixed up from our previous texts. And I would have loved to APOLOGIZE as I was assisting the health aide nurse for my fiance and thought I had more time, but I couldn’t get two words out to her. Again, I DIGRESSSS.
So lonnnnggggg story short, this woman was unprofessional, rude and unfortunately very intimidating and unpleasant.
I wholeheartedly love the meaning behind the clinic and support what they do for people and pets at an affordable price. But have some compassion and learn how to treat people… Especially people who could be nervous dropping THEIR PET OFF FOR SURGERY.
The other woman, young with dark hair she was pleasant and even if she was upset that I was late, I couldn’t even tell because she knew how to treat someone with kindness even if it was a facade.
Ps. The boys both had accidents on the way home and I’m positive you didn’t feed them right after surgery, so I’m SURE they were scared about the car and ride home again. Xoxo
Very pleased with their services!
DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE for the love of god! the lady on the phone was nice but in person she was so rude she threw my cat into the van. This place is so sketchy thank god my cats came back in one piece but honestly spend the extra money and go somewhere where you know your cat will be safe!!!!
I have emailed 2 times & left a message on their phone. No response back. I have questions….over vaccines for my 2 dogs that she neutered by the way. Over the past 35+ years, my family depended on Dr Bridget to spay, neuter all our pets. She no longer comes to Gardiner. Vaccines are before 9am & I live 45 min away from Kingston. No assistance offered.
For every negative review you see here, there are another 100 people that had a great experience and said nothing.
We are so blessed that a resource like this even exists - it is not to be taken for granted !
The individuals who operate Upstate Spay and Neuter work tirelessly every single day to help make a dent in the seemingly insurmountable issue of animal welfare in this country. Bridget and Emma provide affordable, high quality care, no matter the weather, or how they might be feeling that day to *thousands* of animals every year. People from all walks of life use this service, and were it not for them, would otherwise not be able to get very necessary care for their pets and community cats.
Bridget and Emma are kind, thorough, non-judgemental, and generous. Having now brought more than 10 kittens to them just in the span of weeks, I am enormously grateful for this incredible community resource, and hope that they can continue, as they fill an enormous gap.
They are communicative, dutiful, smart, and they are Doing The Work - they are assuaging and preventing suffering, and they are meeting people where they are (both literally and figuratively).
I cannot overemphasize the enormous reach of their service. Every time I’ve been there, so many animals lives are changed for the better, and in turn, their owners’ lives too. Thank you, Bridget and Emma. Please know that your work is valued and appreciated.
