The adoption center is great, they are very friendly and knowledgeable and care about the pets. The Health Clinic is where the problems are. The front desk receptionists- most are very rude and not knowledgeable at all. Always creating problems. And it is so hard to make an appointment, you have to wait 3/4 weeks maybe longer to even see a doctor. The health staff, the techs are fine never had a problem with the techs. The Vets however try to squeeze any money they can out of you. Very quick and always in a rush and can’t understand half of them. I’ve been coming to North Shore for almost 10 years but This place screams “You get what you pay for”. Yes they are cheaper but I’d rather spend 15$ more elsewhere for convenience, better customer service, and better doctors.

It's worth the 45 minute train ride ($20 RT) from Penn Station/GrandCentral to Port Washington for an annual wellness check, vaccines and other non emergency visits. Great care at affordable prices. They offer a discount if your pet was adopted at North Shore Animal League too! We had a great first experience and will be back for sure. Highly recommend. Also, Karen at the front desk is a rockstar for helping us get in when there was a cancellation.

Had our foster puppy spade.Personnel were friendly. Veterarians very good.it all went smoothly.
