My brother’s cat had a very serious emergency. This was the only place that was open so we took her here. She unfortunately had to be put to sleep. The vet who cared for her was very compassionate and gave us her sympathies. The staff was also supportive and treated his cat with care. If your pet is in dire need of treatment I suggest this place. The bill was also pretty reasonable.

Wonderful experience. Brought by German Shepherd in 10pm with an open wound post surgery which she chewed up. Everyone was so pleasant and nice from the front desk to the tech to the vet. So don’t believe the reviews about anyone being nasty. I came here from NYC !! They clearly don’t know what nasty is or they themselves were rude! As for the price! Very reasonable for 24/7 care ?! It can’t be beat. But most important is integrity. This vet could have easily told me I need to do new procedure new stitches and racked up thousands of dollars but instead he told me what was best for my baby and THAT goes a long way. Very knowledgeable and trustworthy. I’ve had German shepherds my whole life and been through many many vets. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thank you all for making this such a seamless and pleasant experience under such circumstances

honestly really disappointed with this vet brought my dog in twice over 60 days got upcharged and when i asked for help 5 days later the second time wouldnt let me talk to a vet. never experienced that before with any vet ive been to.

I wanted to send a big thank you to the staff who helped my pup that they didn't even see. Last night my two year old golden retriever, who is more than just a pup as she bears the name of my angel daughter I lost a couple of years ago, likely got into something one of my kids left lying around. She started having seizures, and so we took her to a 24 hour vet that happened to be closer. They got her stabilized but found her to be heading toward liver failure and with critical electrolyte imbalances. The medication needed to save her requires frequent dosing, and being the big dog that she is, she needed a lot of it. The vet only had enough for the loading dose, so I found myself calling other all-night emergency vets within a couple-hour drive at 2:00 am looking to see who would be willing to talk to my vet for verification, and then allow me to buy it, pick it up, and save my dog. I called a few places, but it was Guardian in Middletown who literally and figuratively answered the call. A big thank you to Bree, the vet who she was working with that I never caught her name, and Kim who approved everything to save the night. Piper, my baby girl, is likely alive and recovering in part because of them. Thank you from the bottom of my most grateful heart. 🫶 - Erica

I had quite a scare early Sunday morning with my 12 yo cat. As our regular vet was closed, I rushed off to Guardian Veterinary Emergency in Middletown. From the moment I walked in, the nurse and doctor responded with care and warmth and professionalism. Within an hour there were diagnostics and medicine and a promise to send a comprehensive email to myself and our regular vet (which I have already received). We will make sure our cat takes all the medicine and follow-up with our more nearby Vet, but I was so grateful for the speedy AND thorough AND kind care my beloved cat received this morning. Thank you GVE!
