The owner of this clinic is the most rude and disrespectful individual I have ever spoken to regarding my daughter’s cat. The cat was bitten by an unknown animal, so we called to get an estimate on having an exam done and treatment provided. I was informed by the person handling the phone that day that it would be a $99 exam fee plus anywhere from $50-$400 for treatment expenses that it would be hard to give an estimate because they were unsure of what would need to be done when the cat arrived. Upon examination, it was determined that the cat needed a medication for pain and medication of antibiotic as well as a cleaning and rabies shot. When brought the contract for payment and description of fee fees, we noticed that the examination fee was set at $175. I brought it to the attention of more than one employee that I was Told earlier in the afternoon before bringing him that it would be a $99 fee. There was a bunch of going back-and-forth and confusion with who had given me this information and because I did not have a name I spoke to this Individual again by calling as they did pick up the phone. This woman apologized and said it was her mistake that she would have it taken care of. They told my mother at the clinic that that was strange. Someone would say that because that is not the price and they explained the difference between an examination by appointment and an examination in case of emergency. I then called back and the owner got on the phone and said to me “ Do you want the cat treated or not? The question is will we even get paid? There’s so much going back-and-forth and bitching about the price. Do you want to keep your $99 and take the cat or do you want the cat treated?” I calmly stated that it was unnecessary for her to be so nasty to me as I was informed incorrectly from the beginning this afternoon and now that it is time to pay prices are changing. I also stated that it was not my fault and either way we will pay for the cat to be treated however, we were told one price and would appreciate to pay that price. The owner cut me off and said “Okay, $287” And then hung the phone up. Finally, the cat was treated and we did pay the reduced price at $99 for the examination. However, the unprofessionalism and nastiness that I received from the owner was a huge disappointment and we will never bring any animal to this hospital ever again!
Great vet office. We are new to the area. They fit both our pups in fast for a vaccine round.
Johnstown Animal Clinic is friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great visit.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!!!! Wish I could give this place a -1000 star negative review An appointment was made to euthanize our pup, sitting in the lobby was fine, however, once in the room, the tech wasn't all that personable. Not showing and caring or compassion for what was about to happen. Now mind you, I've had other pets euthanized but at other Vet Hospitals, and they were so compassionate and caring and made the experience peaceful and soothing. NOT THIS PLACE!!!! The vet literally came in jabbed our pup in the hindquarter with a sedative and said will be back in 10 minutes. 15 minutes past, which was fine and came in with tech. Our pup was on the table and the vet grabbed his leg to start the process and he yanked his leg back, mind you he is going blind and doesn't know where he is basically, and the vet said to the tech to get on the other side of him and the tech covered our pup's head with blanket so she could proceed. And she did and our pup yelped and I shrieked loudly and the vet said and I quote "you can leave now" so I ran to our pup and gave him love and kisses and told him to run free....and We left just HEARTBROKEN!!!! NO compassion OR I'm sorry for your loss...NOTHING!!! I will NEVER get that image out of my head!!!
My wife brought our stella there Monday morning. Stella was not herself and we had been worried. She is normally very rambunctious and active, but for about a day or two she only laid in one spot without getting up much at all. She was still eating and drinking. We just wanted to make sure that she was okay either way. They were very helpful, thoughtful and kind to our sweet pup. I will continue to bring my animals here. They even called 2 days later to check up on her. Which made our experience just that much better. Great clinic for our family pets.
