Dr. Krasnoff cared for our beloved dog, Coal, for nearly her entire life, and I cannot fully express how grateful we are for him.
We first brought Coal to see him when she was just 1 year old and suffering from unexplained fevers. From the very beginning, it was clear that Dr. Krasnoff was an exceptionally experienced and knowledgeable veterinarian. His clinical judgment, calm approach, and depth of understanding gave us confidence right away. He helped Coal recover, and she went on to live a healthy life as a cherished companion for many years.
Over the next 14 years, Dr. Krasnoff was consistently honest, available, and extraordinarily knowledgeable. What stood out most to me was the depth of his experience. He has the kind of judgment that only comes from seeing so much and knowing so much. He always approached Coal’s care with wisdom, practicality, and a clear sense of what truly mattered. I trusted him completely.
He is not a man of unnecessary words, but when he speaks, you can feel the depth of his knowledge and experience behind every word. That meant a great deal to me throughout Coal’s life, and especially during her final days.
When Coal was diagnosed with cancer and heart disease, Dr. Krasnoff was there for us in ways I will never forget. He answered questions in the evenings and on weekends, and he took the time not only to provide medical guidance, but also to simply talk to me during one of the most painful and frightening times of my life. His knowledge gave me confidence, and his calm presence brought comfort.
When Coal suddenly passed away due to her heart condition, Dr. Krasnoff personally called me, listened to me at length, and offered not only compassion, but wisdom and comfort. That kindness meant more to me than I can ever adequately put into words.
I trusted him with my whole heart, and I always will. We feel incredibly lucky to have found someone so experienced, knowledgeable, and compassionate to care for our beloved dog, who was truly a member of our family. I will always be thankful for Dr. Krasnoff and everything he did for Coal and for us.
A year ago I would have rated them 4 stars. I love the front office staff and the assistants, they are all wonderful and personable.
Over the course of one Month this occurred: I have been bringing my pets here for a few years. Recently I brought my 17 year old cat in she seemed uncomfortable and was constantly sneezing/choking. We saw Dr Krasnoff all he did was check her lungs and take her temp. He hurt my cat so badly when taking her temperature, I never heard a cat scream the way she did or jump. I have witnessed this before, his hands are very shaky, I won't go back to him. His hands are too shakey to be working hands-on with the pets.
The following week after he hurt my cat, I brought her back she was acting really odd, peeing all over the place, walking into walls. We saw Dr Rosenbaum, who informed me that her Blood Pressure is high and the stress of the last appointment, could have caused it to go so high it caused her to go blind (retinal detachment), no apologies that this office caused this.
It was downhill from there, at this appointment she weighed 6.09lbs. He mentioned concern for my cat, possible nasal or brain tumor, and wanted to draw blood for Kidney function (seems the only thing he truly cares about), she was too stressed and couldn't get the blood draw. I returned in 2 weeks for a follow up, told him she is doing worse, having a hard time eating and losing more weight and I am considering putting her down. He weighed here she was 5.31lbs, but since they don't write anything down from prior appointments the last weight they had on file was from September and he said that isn't too bad from September till now. But is was bad she lost alot in less than 2 weeks. The clincher he mentioned her issue could be "dust in her nose", we should draw blood and check her kidney function and maybe start monthly IV fluids. Mind you I came to this appointment because my cat was suffering and I was considering putting her down. I refused the blood draw she is suffering enough and doesn't need any more stress, he gave me medicine to help her kidneys and told me that her sleeping all day wasn't a bad life. Wouldn't even discuss putting her down.
A few days later I brought her to a new office. They were wonderful, showed the expertise, kindness and compassion you want in a Vet. She gave her a full exam, said she is dehydrated and very pale, lost even more weight. The vet gave her some fluids to make her more comfortable. She spoke to me about her condition and that we need to make her comfortable. She gave me medicine to take home to keep her comfortable, and gave me the website for a Vet (lapoflove) that comes to the home to euthanize your pet, or I can call her office to make the appointment. My cat passed 5 days later. In one months time my cat went from doing well to dying, due to the improper care and treatment provided by Brookville Animal Hospital.
Brookville the vets have no compassion, and no clue what they are doing. Please don't let them hurt your pets or misdiagnose them make sure you go to a vet that knows what they are doing.
I recently moved to the Garvies Point area with my 13-year-old, 100-pound Chocolate Lab, Brewski. Instead of taking him back to his longtime veterinarian in Oyster Bay, I decided to visit Brookville Animal Hospital and explained my situation that he was an older dog. He helped me right away. The staff was incredibly gracious and accommodating.
Dr. Mark Plunkett evaluated Brewski and provided exceptional care. Some time later, when Brewski’s health began to decline, Dr. Jeff Krasnoff kindly offered to come to our apartment to check on him. Sadly, the morning before Dr. Krasnoff’s visit, Brewski had to be rushed to an emergency hospital, where we had to make that difficult decision that no animal lover should have to go through.
Throughout it all, Dr. Krasnoff reached out to me during that difficult time and showed remarkable compassion and professionalism. They sent a beautiful handwritten condolence letter afterwards which was first class. I would wholeheartedly recommend Brookville Animal Hospital to any animal lover seeking truly caring and dedicated veterinarians and staff.
